Turtle squares
- 1 German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. butter
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk, divided
- 1 bag Kraft caramels
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. chocolate chips
Mix cake mix with butter and 1/3 c. evaporated milk. Spread 1/2 of the thick batter in greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake 5 minutes at 350°. Cool slightly.
Melt caramels and 1/3 c. milk Drizzle over baked batter. Sprinkle nuts and chips over caramel. Drop remaining batter by teaspoonfuls over chips. Bake 18 to 20 minutes at 350°. Cool and cut into squares.
